Jason Webley to wow Toronto on last tour for over a year

Accordion troubadour Jason Webley is returning to Toronto for a special performance with Marie-Josee Houle and Anthony Damiao on May 10.

I got a chance to see this Seattle based Street Performer turned musician last year when he was one half of the sideshow duo Evelyn Evelyn, and I can’t wait to see him again. His live show is like no other and all the videos on youtube don’t measure up to the experience you will get when you see him live. He is one of the reasons I’m about to start taking accordion lessons!

His relentless touring schedule has taken him to over 30 countries, most concerts ending with the entire crowd locked arm-in-arm, swaying and singing.  The Seattle Times describes Webley as “one of Seattle’s most talented musicians, a singer-songwriter with a rare gift for crafting timeless songs that approach Waits and Leonard Cohen territory.”

Webley has released six albums and numerous collaborations on his own record label, Eleven Records. This show in Toronto is going to be a rare chance as he is taking a long break from touring at the end of 2011 and it will be his last show here for quite some time.

He will be playing a very intimate show at Mitzi’s Sister on May 10th for only $8 at the door. It will be all ages and doors will be at 8pm, total steal and I hope to see you all there.
